The Durgapur Science Centre
- The Model For The Fundamental Concept
The first Ankuran Science Centre was established in Durgapur, West Bengal, in 2021. The Centre has top-class faculty, state-of-the-art labs, and amenities that offer an experience-based learning environment for students. This Science Centre hosts 1200+ students of Grades 6 to 12 every month for lab-based science learning, emphasising hands-on experiences in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Tinkering labs.

National Expansion
Ankuran Foundation aspires to establish Science Centres in each of India’s 797 districts by 2030 and, over time, in every block nationwide.
Ankuran implements a unique approach that ensures that every centre is tailored to its community while maintaining high standards of learning and engagement.
The foundation provides ongoing support to enhance the learning environment, ensuring it remains dynamic and relevant for today’s students.

Plan of Expansion - Tamil Nadu
Ankuran Foundation has joined hands with the Tamil Nadu Government and signed an MoU to establish Ankuran Science Centres across the State. Three locations are at various stage of development.
Trichy: MrUdhayanidhi Stalin, Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development, Tamil Nadu, laid the foundation stone of the Ankuran Science Centre in Trichy on July 31st, 2024. The design of the centre has been completed and construction is set to commence with a view to having the centre completed by mid-2025.
Chennai: Ankuran has received preliminary permission to build a Science Centre on the site of one of the Chennai Corporation schools.
Madurai: Ankuran is in discussions with the City Corporation about setting up a Science Centre in the central business district.
Plan of Expansion - Rajasthan
Ankuran Foundation is in talks with the Rajasthan government to establish Science Centres in several cities and districts of the State, starting with Jaipur.
