Ankuran Science Centre, Madurai: Foundation Stone Laid by Minister for IT & Digital Services, Tamil Nadu

Dr. Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, Hon’ble Minister for IT & Digital Services, Tamil Nadu, laid the foundation stone for the Ankuran Science Centre in Madurai on June 25th, 2025. The Madurai Corporation has granted Ankuran Foundation the right to use this land exclusively for establishing the Science Centre for a period of 30 years, with the possibility of extension upon mutual agreement.

The Ankuran Science Centre in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, has been set up in collaboration with Madurai Corporation on a 0.56-acre land parcel near Ward 56, Madurai. The centre is easily accessible and well-connected, with more than 27 schools in close proximity. Its strategic location helps it to provide hands-on science learning opportunities to more than 11,000 students in the local community and over 20,000 students across Tamil Nadu. The campus features expansive green spaces and interactive learning zones, creating an innovative learning environment and serving as a hub of inclusive and collaborative education.

Ankuran Science Centre, Madurai, is committed to making high-quality, experiment-based science education accessible to students from all socio-economic backgrounds. Its immersive, hands-on science learning programs aim to promote critical thinking, creativity, and scientific curiosity among students. Aligned with the vision of Science for All, the centre houses advanced facilities, including:
