About Ankuran Foundation

Ankuran Foundation is committed to transforming India’s science education landscape. We aim to establish a network of Science Centres across the country to provide schoolchildren with experience-based learning opportunities.
Our Science Centres foster an environment where children can experiment, tinker, observe, and collaborate. We are demystifying the world of Science and Technology and promoting a culture of innovation amongst India’s school-going children.
Students are encouraged to think critically, explore their curiosity, and embark on a journey of self-discovery in order to make scientific concepts both accessible and engaging, bridging the gap between theoretical science education and practical scientific understanding within Indian schools.
Through Ankuran, we are building a brighter future for India by building its next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators.

Ankuran Science Centre Durgapur
Message from the Trustee
Ankuran began its journey in August 2021. Our ‘North Star’ is to build widespread scientific temper and a culture of scientific and technological innovation in India by providing hands-on experiences for Indian school children designed to enhance their skills and understanding of science, technology, and mathematics. The youth of this country possess immense potential, but a lack of practical knowledge limits their progress. To address this, we established Ankuran Foundation, focusing on lab-based learning in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Tinkering labs. We are also committed to empowering marginalised students by providing accessible education within their communities.
Our first Science Centre in Durgapur collaborates with 12 schools and hosts over 1200 students of Grades 6 to 12 monthly. We have also laid the foundation stone of our second Science Centre in Trichy, Tamil Nadu.
Looking ahead, we are excited about Ankuran’s plan to roll out Science Centres across the country. We are in active discussions with the Tamil Nadu government to establish multiple Science Centres in the state beyond Trichy. We are also in talks with the government of Rajasthan about establishing Science Centres in the state, starting with Jaipur.
We are also working to standardise our curriculum and panel of vendors to supply our labs with equipment and models. We look forward to your support
